BAHA and Fine Arts Fridays Families!
We are so excited to have the opportunity to partner with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and be apart of the 2025-2026
HLSR Rodeo Art Program!

To be a part of BAHA’s Rodeo Art program there are 3 options:
1) Sign up for our 8 week session of Rodeo Art Classes.
2) Do most of the work at home but come to a few select “Drop-In” Rodeo Art Classes.
3) Do all the work at home.

NOTE: There was a MANDATORY MEETING on 9/26 for all students and parents wanting to participate in Rodeo Art regardless of which participation option you choose! If you were not able to make the meeting please email before October 1 to sign up.

ELLIGIBILTY:
Only enrolled BAHA or FAF students are allowed to participate in the Rodeo Art Competition with BAHA.


Rule 2

ALL ARTWORK MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES:
- Art must be “Western” themed
- Art must be a minimum of 11”x14” and a maximum of 16”x20”. . Vertical or Horizontal is acceptable.
- Art must be worked on solely by the student. A parent and/or a BAHA or FAF art teacher may provide instruction or guidance, but no other outside assistance is allowed and no other person may physically work on the artwork.
- Art must be ORIGINAL. A student cannot copy a published piece of art that is printed or found on the internet. A source may be used for reference for a certain object in the piece, but the scene and layout of the artwork must be the student’s original content. Jr High and High School students will be required to submit their source picture.
- Art must have a title. (name or identifying object cannot be a part of the title)

No names or personalization should be on the artwork.

A LIST OF NO-NO’S:
- Art cannot have any logo, slogan, or licensed character or the likeness of any logo, slogan, or character.
- Art cannot have any profanity, Satanic images, nudity, prejudice, or racial themes or images.
- Art cannot have the student’s name or any other identifying object on it.
- Art cannot be created on mirrors, glass, or with fabric or yarn; no jewelry making, wood burning, or photographic images.

d. Chalk
e. Watercolor
f. Markers
g. Charcoal
h. Oil paint
i. Pen
j. Airbrush
k. Pencil
l. Crayon

THE ONLY PERMISSIBLE SURFACES THAT MAY BE USED:
a. Stretched canvas
b. Canvas boards
c. Paper
d. Artboards (Commercially manufactured for artistic purposes)
e. Masonite boards
f. Scratchboard
