 Course Description: A year of study focused on building a strong understanding of language and writing, English 4 will work on continued knowledge of the proper use of parts of speech, sentence structure, and diagramming. Students of English 4 will learn vocabulary words by looking at the Latin and Greek roots with similar meanings and will learn explanations of the conventions that govern the word formation. Along with language and vocabulary, the students will focus on the following elements of writing strong paragraphs by using adjectives to construct sentences, presenting actions in a logical sequence, and writing conversations using dialogue structure.
