English Through Literature 8/9

Course Description: This course is designed to introduce students to high-school level English skills in both grammar and writing composition. The course will both teach students to read with discernment and to train them to be independent, self-motivated learners. Students will be introduced to great literature from the Western tradition that will provide them with tools to strengthen their writing skills and deepen their reflection and understanding of the different literature they are exposed to.

Students will also continue to sharpen their knowledge of grammar with simple assignments that will keep them fresh on all of the foundational concepts needed to build their writing and communication skills.

This course counts as 1 English credit on a high-school transcript in the state of Texas.
