Education & Experience

Amy Jo Oliver is a certified secondary science teacher with seven years public school teaching experience as a 7th and 8th grade science teacher as well as experience teaching gifted and talented students and coaching girls’ athletics. Her paid teaching was put on hold when her sons were born, staying at home with them until she and her husband decided that homeschooling their sons was the path God desired for their family. During that time, she also became a personal trainer and small group fitness coach out of her desire to help women, hence families, take charge of their health. Wearing the hats of mom, homeschool teacher, trainer, and small business owner also lead her to teach biology at Highlands Latin for a year, then on to BAHA as the Health/Fitness, Current Events, and Launch teacher where she has been on staff for the last four school years. Because her passion for learning is great and her heart for helping people improve their health, she recently became a certified “Christian Health Practitioner” which allows her to teach her students how God so beautifully designed their bodies to function and heal. Amy’s classes are on Tuesdays, but the other days of the work week, you’ll find her training people at a local private gym where she helps her clients discover and develop strength and confidence in their bodies.
